Atto 490LS is a fluorescent marker with an exceptionally large Stokes shift of 165 nm, which almost completely separates emission from absorption. This makes it ideal for multicolor experiments, especially when used with dyes such as Atto 488. It is highly hydrophilic, well-soluble in water, and maintains a high fluorescence quantum yield even with a high degree of labeling (DOL). As an anionic dye, it is negatively charged after coupling to a substrate, it is efficiently excited in the range of 460-530 nm, and it is usually coupled to DNA and RNA oligonucleotides.
