2’-Deoxyuridine (Figure 1) can be incorporated in DNA oligonucleotides as an analog of dT. This base can be removed by treatment with uracil-N-deglycosylase (UNG), which is normally used to digest amplified DNA and eliminates DNA-RNA cross-contaminations.
2’-Deoxyuridine modified oligos can be used to study adaptive and innate immunity in animals.
