ATTO MB2 (Figure 1) derives from the widely recognized redox dye, Methylene Blue. It can be reduced reversibly to its colorless leuko form, and when oxidized (e.g., by oxygen), it regains its color with full absorption restored. ATTO MB2 has a high extinction coefficient. It is moderately hydrophilic and is a cationic dye, with a net positive charge of +1 after being coupled to a substrate.
Atto MB2 represents an excellent alternative to Methylene Blue.
